HALIFAX – Alexandre Doucet had a hat trick and one assist, powering the Halifax Mooseheads to a 5-2 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs on Thursday.

Doucet leads the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with 48 goals and is tied for second in points (93) behind teammate Jordan Dumais (112), who dished out three assists in the win.

Evan Boucher and Markus Vidicek also scored for Halifax (41-9-4-3). Brady James turned away 29 shots.

Noah Reinhart and Luka Benoit replied for Saint John (20-36-1-1), which lost its third straight.

Robert Orr scored six minutes into the second period for Acadie-Bathurst (16-33-5-3). Joshua Fleming stopped 36-of-39 shots.
