CALGARY – Rachael Karker of Erin, Ont., finished second Saturday in women’s World Cup halfpipe behind 19-year-old Eileen Gu of China.
The American-born Gu posted a winning score of 93.50 ahead of Karker’s 85.50.
Gu and Karker were one-two in a second straight World Cup in Calgary after finishing in that order Thursday.
Calgary’s Noah Bowman was third in men’s halfpipe one point ahead of Simon d’Artois of Whistler, B.C.
Alex Ferreira of the United States won with a score of 94.50 ahead of teammate Birk Irving with 93.
Saturday’s World Cup halfpipe was the third of four scheduled this season.
The next major halfpipe event is Aspen’s Winter X Games. Six Canadians have been invited to compete Jan. 27-29 in Colorado.
