AMAC Swim Club hosts 33 teams for 2026 Winter Provincial Trials

The Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club played host to Swim Alberta’s 2026 Winter Provincial Trials this weekend.

The local swim club hosted 33 teams from across the province at the Big Marble Go Centre, featuring hundreds of swimmers competing during one of the more competitive events on the winter slate.

Over the three-day meet, AMAC’s 10 swimmers recorded numerous new personal bests, secured fresh qualifying standards, reached the podium and earned tickets to the 2026 provincial championships.

Nayla Berg (14): Finished 12th in 100m Breast Prelim, 14th in 50m Breast Prelim, 16th in 200m Back Prelim, 18th in 200m Free Prelim, 20th in 200m Free Relay A Final, 21st in 100m Back Prelim and 200m Medley Relay A Final, 23rd in 50m Fly Prelim and 26th in 50m Back Prelim.

Rixtonn Biffart (11): Finished 26th in 50m Free Prelim (New 12y/o Festival Time), 30th in 50m Fly Prelim (New 12y/o Festival Time), 31st in 50m Breast Prelim, 36th in 50m Back Prelim, 39th in 200m Free Prelim, 41st in 100m Back Prelim and 43rd in 100m Free Prelim.

Dain Burnell (13): Finished fourth in 50m Fly Final (New 14y/o Provincial Time), sixth in 50m Back Prelim and 50m Back Final (New 14y/o Provincial Time), seventh in 50m Fly Prelim, 12th in 50m Free Prelim (New 13 & Under Provincial Time), 14th in 200m Free Prelim (New 13 & Under Provincial Time), 16th in 100m Free Prelim (New 13 & Under Provincial Time), 25th in 100m Back Prelim (New 13 & Under Provincial Time) and 27th in 200m Back Prelim.

Matthew Daley (18): Finished 11th in 100m Breast Prelim and 200m Breast Prelim, 14th in 50m Breast Prelim and 50m Fly Prelim, 17th in 100m Fly Prelim and 25th in 100m Free Prelim.

Wyatt Gage (17): Finished second in 50m Free Final, third in 50m Free Prelim, 50m Back Prelim and 50m Back Final, fifth in 50m Fly Final, 100m Free Final and 100m Fly Final, sixth in 50m Fly Prelim and 100m Free Prelim, seventh in 100m Fly Prelim and 11th in 50m Breast Prelim.

Estelle Grisak (15): Finished fifth in 800m Free Final (New 16& Over Provincial Time), ninth in 400m Free Final, 11th in 100m Back Prelim, 14th in 50m Back Prelim, 13th in 50m Breast Prelim, 18th in 50m Fly Prelim and 20th in 50m Free Prelim.

Isabela Josey (12): Finished 17th in 50m Breast Prelim, 19th in 200m Breast Prelim, 20th in 200m Free Relay A Final, 21st in 100m Breast Prelim and 200m Medley Relay A Final, 23rd in 400m Free Final, 26th in 200m IM Prelim, 44th in 50m Fly Prelim and 57th in 50m Back Prelim.

Olivia Liebenberg (13): Finished first in 50m Free Final (provincials berth), 100m Free Final (provincials berth), 200m Free Prelim and 200m Free Final (provincials berth), second in 100m Free Prelim and 400m Free Final, third in 50m Free Prelim and 800m Free Final (New 16& Over Provincial Time), 20th in 200m Free Relay A Final and 21st in 200m Medley Relay A Final, 29th in 50m Fly Prelim and 34th in 200m Breast Prelim.

Olivia McWilliams (12): Finished 20th in 200m Free Relay A Final, 21st in 200m Medley Relay A Final and 400m Free Final, 40th in 50m Breast Prelim, 45th in 200m Back Prelim and 200m Free Prelim, 48th in 100m Back Prelim, 49th in 50m Back Prelim and 56th in 100m Free Prelim.

Aliya Seeley (16): Finished first in 400m IM Final (provincials berth), fifth in 800m Free Final, ninth in 200m IM Prelim, 10th in 200m Back Prelim (New 16& Over Provincial Time), 13th in 100m Fly Prelim, 17th in 200m Free Prelim and 36th in 50m Free Prelim.

Next up for AMAC is the 2026 Pronghorn Classic.
