Dates set for Cubs, Vipers HJHL finals

The Heritage Junior Hockey League has announced the game times and dates for the league finals.

The South Division champion Medicine Hat Cubs will take on the North Division and regular season champion Red Deer Vipers in the best-of-five league finals.

Red Deer holds home ice advantage in the final, hosting Games 1, 3 and, if needed, a decisive Game 5.

Game 1 of the series is Saturday in Red Deer at 8 p.m.

The Cubs’ first home game of the series is Sunday, 4:30 p.m. at the Kinplex.

Six days later, Game 3 is Saturday, March 21 in Red Deer at 8 p.m.

If a Game 4 is needed, the series returns to the Kinplex on March 22 for a 4 p.m. contest.

A decisive Game 5 would be March 28 back in Red Deer for an 8 p.m. puck drop.
