Waves Swim Club races at short course provincials

The Medicine Hat Waves Swim Club swam in Moose Jaw at provincials over the weekend.

The local swim club sent 15 swimmers to the Saskatchewan short course junior provincials, setting four new club records and one swimmer recording a qualifying time.

Wesley Henderson (Girls, 9) set club records in the 50m Free, 200m Breast and 200m Free.

Ellis Anstey (Boys, 8) set club records in the 50m Free, 100m Free and 200m Free.

Jordan Hill (Girls, 17) set a Waves record in the 800m Free.

Sydni Martens (Girls 20 and over Para) set a club record in the 100m Free and 200m Breast.

Sophie Baht (Girls 15 and Girls 16 and over) set a provincial trials time in the 200m Breast.

The Waves individual results were:

Ellis Anstey: Finished ninth in 100m Free, 11th in 200m Free, 13th in 50m Free and 50m Back and 15th in 50m Breast.

Davis Hodel: Finsihed third in 200m Back, sixth in 100m Breast, eighth in 50m Breast, 10th in 100m Back, 19th in 100m Free, 21st in 50m Back, 22nd in 200m Free and 27th in 50m Free.

Jonathan Miller: Finished third in 200m Free, sixth in 50m Breast, eighth in 50m Fly and 100m Free, ninth in 50m Back and 100m Fly and 10th in 50m Free.

Connor Tweten: Finished third in 200m Breast, fifth in 400m Free, seventh in 50m Back, eighth in 200m Free, ninth in 100m Free and 10th in 50m Breast and 50m Fly.

Oliver Tweten: Finished fifth in 100m Back, sixth in 200m Breast, 10th in 200m Free, 11th in 50m Breast, 12th in 100m Free, 12th in 100m Breast and 100m Free and 18th in 50m Free.

Quinn Baht: Finished third in 400m Free, seventh in 200m Free and 200m Back, ninth in 100m Back and 14th in 100m Breast.

Sophie Baht: Finished first in 100m Breast and 200m Breast, third in 50m Fly and fourth in 100m Back.

Alexis Goffinet: Finished 13th in 50m Free and 100m Free, 15th in 100m Back, 17th in 200m Free, 18th in 50m Back and 19th in 50m Fly.

Wesley Henderson: Finished first in 50m Free and 100m Free, second in 50m Breast, 100m Breast, 200m Breast and 200m Free, third in 100m Back and fourth in 50m Back.

Jordan Hill: Finished fifth in 800m Free, sixth in 400m Free, eighth in 200m Free, 111th in 50m Breast, 17th in 50m Fly and 18th in 50m Free.

Leighton Hodel: Finished 23rd in 100m Breast, 31st in 100m Back, 33rd in 50m Breast, 34th in 50m Back, 37th in 50m Free and 45th in 100m Free.

Sydni Martens: Finished 16th in 200m Breast, 21st in 100m Breast, 28th in 200m Free, 32nd in 50m Breast, 38th in 100m Free and 45th in 50m Free.

Avery Tweten: Finished seventh in 200m Breast, 13th in 100m Breast, 16th in 50m Fly, 19th in 50m Breast, 21st in 50m Back, 32nd in 50m Free and 33rd in 100m Free.

Isabel Unreiner: Finished second in 50m Fly, fifth in 50m Free, sixth in 100m Free, 13th in 50m Back and 50m Breast and 16th in 200m Free.

Olivia Willberg: Finished third in 50m Back, sixth in 50m Breast, 11th in 100m Fly, 12th in 100m Fly, 200m Free and 15th in 50m Fly and 100m Free.

The men’s 4x50m Medley relay team (Oliver Tweten, David Hodel, Ellis Anstey and Connor Tweten) finished third.

The mixed 4x50m Medley relay team (Ellis Anstey, Wesley Henderson, Quinn Baht and David Hodel) finished third.

The mixed 4x50m Free relay team (Alexis Goffinet, Connor Tweten, Jonathan Miller and Isabel Unreiner) finished fourth.

The women’s 4x50m Medley relay team (Olivia Willberg, Sophie Baht, Isabel Unreiner and Alexis Goffinet) finished fifth.

The mixed 4x50m Free relay team (Oliver Tweten, Wesley Henderson, Ellis Anstey and Avery Tweten) finished fifth.
