The Medicine Hat Tigers will be without Jonas Woo this weekend.

The 19-year-old defenceman was assessed a three-game suspension Tuesday for his match penalty in Saturday’s 4-3 overtime win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Woo was assessed a 10-minute misconduct and a match penalty for attempt to injure after trying to start a fight in the Tigers’ end in the second period Saturday.

He served the first game of the suspension Tuesday when the Tigers were in Edmonton taking on the Oil Kings. He will miss two games this weekend against the Calgary Hitmen – Friday on the road and Saturday at Co-op Place.

Woo had been suspended one game this season for a check to the head major in a 4-2 loss to the Hitmen.

In 48 games this season Woo has 26 goals and 74 points.
