Medicine Hat Tigers goaltender Jordan Switzer makes one of his 26 saves for his second shutout of the year, blanking the Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-0 Friday on the road.

The Medicine Hat Tigers started their weekend in shutout fashion.
Jordan Switzer stopped all 26 shots he faced Friday night in Lethbridge for his second shutout of the season as the Tigers blanked the Hurricanes 3-0.
Neither team scored in the first period with the Tigers outshooting Lethbridge 14-10. Medicine Hat tallied all of their offence in the second period.
Just under 10 minutes into the frame, Luke Cozens redirected a point shot from Jonas Woo for his 22nd. Friday’s action was Cozens’ first game back in Lethbridge since being acquired by the Tigers on Jan. 7.
Bryce Pickford had the second assist for a point in his first game back from injury, missing the last 10 games with an upper-body ailment.
They struck again with a little over three minutes left in the frame. Andrew Basha got the final touch on a shot from Yaroslav Bryzgalov for his 10th. Woo had the second assist.
Just 48 seconds later, Markus Ruck capitalized on a passing play from Noah Davidson and Liam Ruck, going bar down for his 16th of the season.
The Tigers led the Hurricanes 3-0 after 40 minutes, outshooting them 35-17.
Forward Cam Parr was cross-checked from behind in the slot off a face-off, slow to get up and he had to be helped off the ice. No call was made on the play.
Across the ice from Switzer, who recorded his league-leading 25th win, Koen Cleaver stopped 49 shots. Neither team scored on their power plays, Tigers held 2-0 and Lethbridge 0-3.
The Tigers (38-9-5-3) host the Hurricanes on Saturday at Co-op Place.
