After losing 7-1 Saturday to the Red Deer Chiefs, the Hounds beat the Central Alberta Selects 5-3 on Sunday. Kaspar Copeland scored the lone goal Saturday for Medicine Hat, Maddox Joyal made 35 saves. Nixon Staples had a goal and an assist in Sunday’s win. Hudson Schutte, Emerson Kurtz, Brody Eresman and Nash Pahl each scored, Joyal made 35 saves in a second-straight start. The U15AA Hounds (7-22-0-0-3) are on the road again this weekend. U13 The Medicine Hat U13AA Hounds split their weekend slate, losing 4-3 Saturday to the Wheatland Warriors before beating the Olds Grizzlys 3-2 on Sunday. In Saturday’s loss, Hudson Danroth, Cohen McLaren and Stetsen Kreiser each scored, Treyson Donnelly made 36 saves. The Hounds had three different goal scorers in Sunday’s win, with Carter Martin tallying a goal and an assist and both Kreiser and Emmett Brown finding the back of the net. Donnelly made 34 saves. The U13AA Hounds (6-18-0-0-5) are on the road for a pair of games this weekend. The U13AAA South East Tigers won a pair of games over the weekend, beating CRAA Blue 7-4 Saturday and 5-2 Sunday over the CNHA White. Fischer Sprunger scored five goals in Saturday’s win with Shawn Mrowil adding a goal and an assist and Rustin Wenzel notching a solo tally. Dawson Ressler made 36 saves. In Sunday’s win, Sprunger scored twice, Tyson Nguyen had a goal and an assist and both Benson Motz and Paxton Foote found the back of the net. Tate Martin made 19 saves. The U13AAA SE Tigers (15-10-0-0-3) are off until Feb. 28 when they host the Wheatland Warriors. U16 The Medicine Hat U16AA Hounds lost a pair of games, falling 17-4 Saturday to the NWCAA Bronks and 6-2 to the Wheatland Warriors on Sunday. Everett Ward had a goal and an assist Saturday, both Beckham Girletz and Evander Leupold had a goal and an assist and Conner Hofer added a solo tally. Bryden Tschritter started and made 28 saves, Marshall Turner made nine saves in relief. Girletz and Hofer scored in Sunday’s loss, Turner made 27 saves. The U16AA Hounds (8-19-0-0-1) host the Airdrie Lightning on Saturday at the Moose Rec Centre for a 5:30 p.m. contest. U17 The U17AAA SE Tigers lost 5-4 Saturday to the SSAC Bulldogs before tying with the Calgary Bulls 4-4 on Sunday. Illya Khazov scored twice Saturday and both Dane Freidt and Tyson Chambers had a goal and an assist. Griffin Stenger made 25 saves. In Sunday’s draw, Gibson Studer and Friedt each had a goal and an assist, Khazov and Cameron Slater both scored and Jake Druar made 34 saves. The U17AAA SE Tigers (6-17-0-0-5) are on the road Saturday before hosting the LJAC Oil Kings on Sunday at the Hounds arena for a 2:15 p.m. contest. U18 The U18AA Hounds had just one game over the weekend, a 6-4 loss Friday to the Foothills Bisons. Ethan Hall, Nixon Kunkel and Zander Weatherhead each had a goal and an assist, and Brody Dick had a solo tally. Hudson Corbett made 41 saves. The U18AA Hounds (9-19-0-0-3) host the East Kootenay Avalanche on Saturday for a 12:30 p.m. contest at Co-op Place before playing on the road Sunday. 31
