Minor Hockey Rounduo: U13AAA South East Tigers record shutout to win lone weekend contest

The Medicine Hat U13AAA South East Tigers worked an efficient win Sunday.

The Tigers blanked the NWCAA Black 6-0 with a 31-save shutout from Martin Tate.

Nash Dyck had four goals and both Callaghan Tjeerdema and Koa Steinkey added solo tallies. Fischer Sprunger had four assists.

The U13AAA SE Tigers (13-10-0-0-3) host the CRAA blue on Saturday for an 11:14 a.m. contest and the CNHA White on Sunday for a 4:30 p.m. game, both at the Hockey Hounds Arena.

The Medicine Hat U13AA Hounds had two road games this weekend against the East Kootenay Avalanche, falling 6-1 Friday and 4-3 Saturday.

In Friday’s loss, Cohen McLaren scored and Treyson Donnelly made 42 saves. Stetsen Kreiser, McLaren and Max Chisholm scored on Saturday, Austin Hall had two assists and Asher Nardari made 32 saves.

The U13AA Hounds (5-17-0-0-5) host the Wheatland Warriors on Saturday for a 6 p.m. contest at the Kinplex before they head on the road Sunday.

U15

The U15AAA SE Tigers dropped a pair of games over the weekend.

They lost 3-2 in overtime Saturday to the MLAC Maple Leafs and 5-1 Sunday to the Red Deer Rebels.

Jhett Stober and Hausten Biech each scored in Saturday’s loss, Hunter Knoll made 22 saves.

Bekam Sprunger scored the Tigers lone goal Sunday, Hunter Munro made 43 saves.

The next scheduled AEHL game for the U15AAA SE Tigers (2-25-0-3-0) is Feb. 20 on the road before hosting the Calgary Royals on Feb. 22 for a 5 p.m. contest at the Hounds Arena.

The Medicine Hat U15AA Hounds had just one game over the weekend, a 5-0 loss Sunday to the Foothills Bisons.

Colson Neigum started the game, making six saves. Maddox Joyal took over in net, making 36 stops.

The U15AA Hounds (6-21-0-0-3) are on the road for a pair of games this weekend.

U16

The Medicine Hat U16AA Hounds beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-1 on Saturday.

Beckham Girletz scored twice, Evander Leupold had a goal and an assist and both Shane Mathe and Kallum Ulmer found the back of the net. Marshall Turner made 31 saves.

The U16AA Hounds (8-17-0-0-1) are on the road Saturday before hosting the Wheatland Warriors on Sunday for a 6:45 p.m. contest at the Kinplex.

U17

The U17AAA SE Tigers had a pair of road games, falling 5-3 Saturday to the Calgary Bulls and 3-0 Sunday to the Calgary Flames.

Dane Friedt, Canaan Fleck and Hayden MacNeil each scored in Saturday’s loss, Griffin Stenger made 44 saves.

Jake Druar had 37 saves Sunday.

The U17AAA SE Tigers (6-16-0-0-4) have tow games this weekend at the Hounds Arena, hosting the South Side Bulldogs on Saturday (4:30 p.m.) and the Calgary Bulls on Sunday (1:45 p.m.).

U18

The Medicine Hat U18AA Hounds lost 3-1 Friday to the Wheatland Warriors before they beat the Foothills Bisons 4-2 on Sunday.

Ethan Hall scored in Friday’s loss, Hudson Corbett made 34 saves.

Evan Marentette had a goal and an assist in Sunday’s win and all three of Jon Jackle, Hall and Griffin Aadland found the back of the net. Colten Pluta had two assists and Treyton Wilson made 27 saves.

The U18AA Hounds (9-18-0-0-3) host the Foothills Bisons on Friday for a 7:15 p.m. contest at the Kinplex.
