Curling Centre hosts 74th annual Ladies Bonspiel

The Medicine Hat Curling Centre hosted their annual Ladies Bonspiel over the weekend.

The 74th annual Ladies Bonspiel was held Friday to Sunday with the Ladies A Final champion crowned on Sunday.

The A final delivered a completive match throughout, with game-saving shots going back and forth.

Ultimately Team Crystal Sherwick secured a hard-fought 6-5 victory over Dana Sapach’s team.

Sherwick’s team featured Crystal, Beryl Miller, Millie Moch, Andrea Bennett and Sandy McIntosh.

Tina Stroh’s team (Tina Stroh, Megan Rabe, Carey Hellman and Kayla Stroh) captured the B event, beating Donna Schneider’s team.

Ruth Schafer’s team (Michelle Titus, Ruth Schafer, Carol Symington, Leanne Greenwood) won the C event, with Liz Unrau’s Team finishing second.

Sandy Bell’s team (Sandy Bell, Carla Weinheimer, Donna Herman, Joanne Hodges) took first in the D event, with Wendy Riste’s team coming in second.

The Curling Centre has three upcoming events, with high school qualifiers today and Thursday and the Canadian Livestock Association Bonspiel Feb. 6-8. The Doubles Bonspiel is Feb. 13-15.
