sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Medicine Hat College Rattlers futsal teams went undefeated over the weekend at the Snake Pit. They hosted the SAIT Trojans, Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks, Olds College Broncos and Ambrose University Lions for two days of futsal action at the college. The men’s team won all four games, starting the weekend with a 7-3 win Saturday over the Lethbridge Polytechnic. Tata Mugisha had three goals, all four of Askia Tahirou, Joao Nascimento, De’Shaunt Gelinas-Ca and Ethan Sentes all scored solo markers. Tayvin Kelemen made two saves in net and Stefan Vrska made four stops. They beat the SAIT Trojans 6-1 later in the day. Aleksa Bijelic had two goals and all three of Aminja Abbe, Joao Nascimento and Tata Mugisha found the back of the net. Maksymilian Slaweta made three saves and Noah Scolly stopped five shots. On Sunday they beat Olds College 7-3. Aleksa Bijelic led the offence with four goals, Tata Mugisha, Joao Cintra and Jose Manrique each scored as well. Scolly stopped 14 shots. They finished the weekend with a 10-6 win over Ambrose. Joao Cintra had a hat trick, the trio of Joao Nascimento, Aleksa Bijelic and Tata Mugisha scored two goals each and Aminja Abbe had a solo marker. Kelemen made seven saves. The women’s team opened the weekend with a 4-3 win over Lethbridge on Saturday. Nicoly Souza, Charley Indzeoski, Alexis Ratke and Ivy Hozack all scored, Abby Lalach made 23 saves. They tied SAIT 1-1 later in the day. Nicoly Souza scored the long MHC goal, Lalach made 21 saves. On Sunday they beat Olds College 3-1. Alivia Rybchinski, Charley Indzeoski and Olivia Bender each scored, Lalach stopped 13 shots. The Rattlers rounded out the weekend with a 7-1 win over Ambrose. Alexis Ratke notched a hat trick, Charley Indzeoski had two goals and both Ivy Hozack and Olivia Bender both scored. Lalach made five saves, Rylan Morhart had two stops. MHC’s men (5-0) and women (4-0-1) are off until March when they host Ambrose, Olds College and SAIT on March 6 and 7. Hockey The Rattlers women’s hockey team were on the road for a pair of games, facing the Lakeland College Rustlers. On Friday they lost 4-2. Zayda Summach and Sidney Ellingson each scored, Sarah Shields made 38 saves. The Rattlers lost 3-2 on Saturday. Aivry Thomas and Ellingson both scored, Anna Stewart stopped 30 shots in net. MHC’s women’s team (7-14) host the SAIT Trojans on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. contest at the Moose Rec Centre. 19
