The Rattlers basketball teams hosted Briercrest College for a pair of games this weekend, their first non-exhibition games of 2026. The men’s team beat Briercrest 103-100 on Friday before losing 106-104 on Saturday. Jordan Biggar led the Rattlers in the win with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Ethan Robinson had 15 points and Kieran Isnor had 14 points. Isnor led the way Saturday with 29 points and 10 rebounds in the loss. Robinson had 23 points and Biggar had 22. The women’s team lost both games to Briercrest, falling 89-87 Friday and 81-58 Saturday. Jasmie Gardiner had 30 points and nine assists in Friday’s loss. Veda Gottselig had 15 points and eight rebounds. On Saturday, Alexis Watkiss had 15 points and six rebounds and both Brynn Bremner and Gardiner had 10 points each. The men’s (5-5) and women’s (5-6) basketball teams are on the road this weekend, facing the Olds College Broncos. Hockey MHC’s women’s hockey team hosted the SAIT Trojans on Friday, falling 3-2 in the shootout. The Rattlers scored two third-period goals. Bree Purcell found the back of the net on a power play and Gracie Soderstrom scored with nine seconds left in the frame to force extra time. Anna Stewart made 35 saves. The Rattlers (4-11) are on the road for a pair of games this weekend, facing the NAIT Ooks on Friday and Saturday. Volleyball The Rattlers volleyball teams were on the road this weekend, facing Briercrest College. The men’s team lost both matches, falling in five sets Friday (14-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-23, 9-15) and five sets Saturday (no results recorded). William Reiniger had 16 kills in Friday’s loss, Cade Harrison had 15 as well. The women’s team lost both matches, falling in three sets Friday (11-25, 12-25, 23-25) and four sets Saturday (22-25, 25-23, 21-25, 11-25). Jaivyn Barabe had seven kills in Friday’s match with another six on Saturday. Tannah McKay led the attack Saturday with 11 kills. MHC’s men’s (3-8) and women’s (2-9) teams host the Olds College Broncos at the Snake Pit on Friday and Saturday. The women’s matches start at 6 p.m. and 1 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m. and 3 p.m. 23
