Rattlers teams return to action from holiday break

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers winter sports get back in action Friday after the holidays.

MHC’s men’s (5-4) and women’s (5-4) basketball teams each played an exhibition game on the road against the Ambrose Lions on Jan. 3. The men’s team won 92-90 and the women’s team also won, 72-67.

They return to the Snake Pit this weekend to host Briercrest College for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday. The women’s team plays at 8 p.m. (Friday) and 1 p.m. (Saturday) and the men’s team plays at 8 p.m. (Friday) and 3 p.m. (Saturday.

MHC’s volleyball teams are on the road this weekend against Briercrest College. The men’s team (3-6) and women’s team (2-7) return to the College’s Snake Pit on Jan. 16 and 17 to host the Olds College Broncos.

The first action of 2026 for the Rattlers’ women’s hockey team (4-10) comes Jan. 9 at the Moose Rec Centre against the SAIT Trojans. That game gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
