newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Medicine Hat College’s annual Rattler Run is slated for its 47th running this spring. The annual run, walk or push around the campus will be held Saturday, April 25. The run welcomes individuals of all ages and abilities to take on a 3 km, 5 km or 10 km race around the local campus. Early-bird registration is open for the run and can be found on the Rattlers’ website. Entries are limited to the first 1,000 to register. Rattlers return from holidays The Rattlers basketball teams return to action this weekend. MHC’s men (5-4) and women (5-4) are on the road taking on the Ambrose Lions. The men’s team entered the holiday/exam break on a three-game winning streak. They’ll return to the Snake Pit the next weekend, hosting the Briercrest College on Jan. 9 and 10 for a pair of games. MHC’s volleyball teams don’t resume action until Jan. 9 and 10 when they head to Caronport, Sask. to face Briercrest College. The men’s team (3-6) and women’s team (2-7) return to the College’s Snake Pit on Jan. 16 and 17 to host the Olds College Broncos. The first action of 2026 for the Rattlers’ women’s hockey team (4-10) comes Jan. 9 at the Moose Rec Centre against the SAIT Trojans. That game gets underway at 7:30 p.m. 12
