The Spokane Chiefs picked up two overage forwards over the last few days.

The defending Western Conference champions made a deal with the Saskatoon Blades on Tuesday, acquiring forward Dominik Petr and a 2029 fifth-round draft pick in exchange for 19-year-old forward Elias Pul and 17-year-old defenceman Kaden Allen.

Petr has nine goals and 21 points in 29 games this season with the Blades. He started his WHL career with the Brandon Wheat Kings, tallying 41 goals and 113 points in 151 games before he was traded to Saskatoon in the offseason.

Pul, a product of Weingarten, Germany, has three goals and six points in 22 games this season after being selected 118th overall by the Chiefs in the 2025 CHL Import Draft. Allan has four assists in 19 games this year with Spokane, notching a goal and five points in 44 games last year.

The trade gives Saskatoon, who was in action Tuesday in Moose Jaw, three German-born import forwards in Pul, Edmonton Oilers prospect David Lewandowski and Dustin Willhoft.

On Sunday, the Chiefs swung a deal with the Lethbridge Hurricanes for captain Logan Wormald.

The 20-year-old forward has 14 goals and 33 points in 30 games. Spokane sent four picks to Lethbridge, two 2026 third-round picks, a 2026 fourth-round pick and a 2028 fourth-round pick.

Wormald played 266 regular season games with the Hurricanes, falling 99 goals and 243 points.

With the trade, the Hurricanes have 10 selections in the first seven rounds of the 2026 WH Draft including two third-round picks, three fourth-round picks, two sixth-round picks and three seventh-round picks as well as a conditional first-round pick from the trade with the Kelowna Rockets.

The pair of trades gives the Chiefs three overage forwards with Petr and Wormald joining forward Shea Van Olm. The Hurricanes have just one overager, defenceman Matteo Fabrizi.

The WHL trade deadline is Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. MST.
