Minor Hockey Roundup: U18AA Hounds split weekend slate

The Medicine Hat U18AA Hounds won the first game of their weekend.

They beat the Central Alberta Selects 4-2 on Friday ahead of a 6-3 loss Saturday to the Olds Grizzlys.

Jaxon Bohrn scored twice, Mavric Ward had a goal and an assist and Jon tackle had a solo tally. Hudson Corbett made 55 saves.

In Saturday’s loss, Ethan Hall scored twice and Colten Pluta had a goal and an assist. Treyton Wilson made 41 saves.

The U18AA Hounds (7-8-0-0-2) host the Golden Suns on Friday (7 p.m.) at the Hockey Hounds arena before playing on the road Sunday.

U17

The U17AAA South East Tigers had two games on the road, picking up a win.

They beat the Airdrie Avalanche 4-3 in overtime Saturday before losing 5-1 Sunday to the Red Deer Chiefs.

Dan Friedt scored the overtime winner Friday, adding an assist in the win. Illya Khazov also had a goal and an assist and both Rhyder Arnold and Logan Neuls had a goal. Griffin Stenger made 45 saves.

On Sunday, Friedt scored the Tigers’ lone goal, Jake Druar made 34 saves.

The U17AAA SE Tigers (5-7-0-0-1) are on the road again this week for a pair of games.

U16

The Medicine Hat U16AA Hounds hosted a pair of games, winning Friday before losing Sunday.

They beat the Calgary Northstars 3-2 on Friday before falling 4-3 Sunday to the Bow Valley Timberwolves.

Evander Leupold had a goal and an assist in the win, both Beckham Girletz and Maguire Liefso each scored, Marshall Turner made 51 stops in net.

Against Bow Valley, Liefso had a goal and an assist and both Colin Chisholm and Liam Jaspers found the back of the net. Bryden Tschritter made 31 saves.

The U16AA Hounds (5-9-0-0-1) hit the road for two games this weekend.

U15

The U15AAA SE Tigers lost twice this weekend, blanked 10-0 Saturday to the Red Deer Rebels and 6-1 Sunday to the Airdrie Xtreme.

Hunter Munro made 58 saves in the loss to Red Deer.

Hunter Knoll was in net on Sunday, making 51 saves. Raylan Johnson scored the Tigers lone goal Sunday.

The U15AAA SE Tigers (1-16) are on the road Sunday.

Medicine Hat’s U15AA Hounds lost both games this weekend, falling 5-4 Saturday to the West Central Tigers and 5-2 Sunday tot he Olds Grizzlys.

Kaspar Copeland had a goal and an assist Saturday, supplemented by solo tallies from Nash Pahl, Jacob Cartwright and Talon Stolz. Maddox Joyal made 28 saves.

On Sunday Kane Tuchscherer and Hunter Kustra each scored, Colson Neigum made 26 saves.

The U15AA Hounds (3-15-0-0-1) are on the road Sunday.
