sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Medicine Hat College Cross Country team had five runners at the national championship over the weekend. Four women and one male runner represented the Rattlers at the CCAA National Cross Country Championships held at Mark Arendz Provincial Ski Park just outside of Charlottetown, P.E.I. Phoenix Asprey led the MHC ladies with a 39th place finish in the women’s 6 km race, covering the hilly and soggy course in a time of 25:56. Teammates Renya Woodruff (67th), Presley Brennan (92nd) and Addison Weir (99th) also took part in the race. As a team, the Rattlers’ women’s team finished 13th in the 17-team race. On the men’s side, Logan Pancoast finished 38th with a time of 28:25 in the 8km race. Red Deer Polytechnic was the top Alberta school, placing sixth among the women’s teams and seventh among the men’s teams. A total of 228 runners from 34 different schools across Canada took part in the meet. 9
