Minor Hockey Roundup: U18AA Hounds win lone game of the weekend

The Medicine Hat U18AA Hounds took care of business, winning their only game of the weekend.

They beat the Okotoks Oilers 5-1 on the road Sunday.

Zander Weatherhead and Brody Dick each had a goal and an assist, and all three of Nixon Kunkel, Mavric Ward and Colten Pluta added solo markers. Treyton Wilson made 43 saves in the win.

The U18AA Hounds (4-5-0-1) are on the road for one game this weekend, facing the CBHA Hawks on Sunday.

U17

The U17AAA South East Tigers picked up a point in the weekend, with a 3-3 tie Saturday to the Calgary Royals before falling 5-2 Sunday to the Okotoks Oilers.

Canaan Fleck and Dane Friedt had a goal and an assist on Saturday, Finn Willerton scored as well. Jake Druar made 37 saves.

Tyson Chambers and Rhyder Arnold scored for the Tigers on Sunday, Griffin Stenger made 47 stops.

The U17AAA SE Tigers (3-2-0-1) host the Airdrie Avalanche on Sunday for a 4:30 p.m. contest at the Hockey Hounds Arena.

U16

The U16AA Hounds went undefeated, beating the West Central Tigers 5-3 on Friday before tying the Tigers on Saturday 3-3.

Maddox Mikkelson had two goals in Friday’s win and all three of Everett Ward, Shane Mathe and Colin Chisholm found the back of the net. Marshall Turner made 39 saves.

In the draw, Dylan Dick, Beckham Girletz and Evander Leupold all scored, Bryden Tschritter made 48 saves.

The U16AA Hounds (3-3-0-1) host the CRAA Gold on Saturday at the Kinplex (1 p.m) before heading on the road Sunday.

U15

The U15AAA SE Tigers dropped a pair of games, falling 9-0 Saturday to the Calgary Northstars before losing 5-1 Sunday to the Calgary Flames.

Hunter Knoll made 47 saves in the shutout-loss Saturday. Beckam Sprunger scored the lone goal for the Tigers on Sunday, Hunter Munro made 47 saves.

The U15AAA Tigers (0-9) have two home games this weekend, hosting the Calgary Royals on Saturday (7:15 p.m) and the Calgary Bisons on Sunday (1:30 p.m.).

The U15AA Medicine Hat Hounds had one game over the weekend, losing 5-2 Saturday to the Okotoks Oilers.

Hudson Schutte and Talon Stolz each scored, Colson Neigum made 23 saves.

The U15AA Hounds (1-8-0-1) have two home games at the Hockey Hounds arena this week, hosting the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday (7 p.m.) and the Okotoks Oilers on Saturday (2 p.m).
