The Cubs beat the Coaldale Copperheads 8-3 on Friday before falling 6-3 Saturday to the Strathmore Wheatland Kings. Captain Kyle Woolridge had a hat trick in the win Friday. Makhi Carriere had a goal and two assists, Nolen Sutherland had a goal and a helper and all three of Denyn Smith, Slade McFadzen and Everett Liefso scored in the win. Marlo DeRosa made 23 saves. On Saturday, Randen Collier had a goal and an assist and both Jacob Hazard and Sutherland found the back of the net. Woolridge had two assists. DeRosa made 22 saves in the loss. The Cubs (5-4-1) sit third in the South division and have a pair of games this week. They head to high River on Friday to face the Flyers before hosting the Strathmore Wheatland Kings on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. contest. 7
