Rattlers Roundup: Rattlers soccer sweeps weekend

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers soccer teams picked up three weekend wins.

The women’s team won a pair of games, beating the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks on Saturday before beating the University of Alberta-Augustana 2-0 Sunday.

Individual and final score stats were not available from Saturday’s win. On Sunday, Alexis Ratke and Olivia Bender scored for the Rattlers and Rylan Morhart stopped all three shots.

The men’s team won 7-2 Saturday over the Kodiaks.

Tata Mugisha scored four goals, Ethan Sentes and Joao Cintra each had a goal and Aleksa Bijelic found twine. Tayvin Kelemen made six saves.

The Rattlers women (6-4) and men (8-0) finish the regular season on the road against the Ambrose Lions on Saturday and Sunday against the SAIT Trojans.

Women’s Hockey

The Rattlers’ women’s hockey team hosted their home opener Saturday, falling 3-2 in double overtime to the NAIT Ooks.

Mieka Loeppky and Zayda Summach each scored and Anna Stewart made 42 saves.

The Rattlers (0-2) will host the Ooks for a pair of games this week, Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m., both at the Moose Rec Centre.
