After a 4-2 loss Friday on the road to the Okotoks Bisons, the Cubs rebounded with an 8-5 win Sunday at the Kinplex over the Rocky Rams. Connor Chapman and Nolan Sutherland scored in Friday’s loss, Kayne Wright made 22 saves. They outshot Okotoks 40-26 but were held scoreless on six power plays. The Bisons were 1-6 on the man advantage. In Sunday’s win, Jacob Hazzard had four goals with an assist. All three of Denyn Smith, Blake Girard and Carson Kraft had a goal and an assist. Everett Liefso scored a solo tally and Jesse Klimosko finished with three assists. Wright stopped 21 shots for the win. The Cubs outshot the Rams 46-26 and went a perfect 4-4 on the power play. The Rams scored on their lone power play. The Cubs (4-3-1) sit third in the South division and will face two divisional opponents at the Kinplex this week. They’ll host the Coaldale Copperheads on Friday and the Strathmore Wheatland Kings on Saturday, both games at 7:30 p.m. 8
