The Cubs forced overtime and lost 5-4 in the extra frame Saturday to the Mountainview Colts before blanking the defending HJHL champion Sylvan Lake Wranglers 3-0 on Sunday. Captain Kyle Woolridge had two goals and an assist in the loss Saturday, scoring on a power play with 51 seconds left in the third to force OT. Mason Osinski and Jacob Hazzard each had a goal and an assist, Connor Bender made 41 saves. Marlo DeRosa stopped all 26 shots he faced Sunday for the win, his second straight shutout victory. Nolen Sutherland scored twice and Carson Kraft found twine in the win over the Wranglers. The Cubs (3-2-1) are on the road Friday to face the Okotoks Bisons before hosting the Rocky Rams on Sunday at the Kinplex, puck drop at 3 p.m. 7
