The Medicine Hat Tigers deepened their forward core Tuesday.

The Tigers acquired 19-year-old forward Max Sullivan in a trade with the Kamloops Blazers, sending a conditional 2029 eighth-round pick the other way.

Sullivan had seven goals and 23 points in 61 games with the Blazers last season. In 106 career WHL regular season games, the Calgary product has 10 goals and 28 points.

“We’re excited about him,” associate coach Joe Frazer said.

“He’s a player who has a lot of skill so it will be good to get him in and take a look at him.”

Sullivan is just the third 19-year-old forward with the Tigers, joining Carter Cunningham who signed mid-season with the Tigers last year and camp invite Dayton Reschny who has played four preseason games, scoring a goal with three points.

“He’s got some experience, had over 20 points last year, and we just really liked him in the preseason, his speed and skill, and that’s something we’re always looking for. And I think we’ll get him in here and try to get him acclimated right away and just see how he fits in.”
