McCoy Colts win first game of HS football season

The Monsignor McCoy Colts senior football team open their season in winning fashion.

The Colts hosted the Joane Cardinal-Schubert Ravens on Friday, winning 42-8 at the Methanex Bowl.

All three of Medicine Hat’s high schools won their first games, with the Hat High Hawks and Crescent Heights Vikings picking up wins Thursday.

The Hawks beat Winston Churchill 40-0.

The Vikings, playing on the road, beat the Stettler Wildcats 16-0.

The Hawks host Holy Trinity Academy on Sept. 5 for a 5 p.m. contest.

The Colts and Vikings will square off the same night for the fifth annual Rick Boksteyn Bowl at 7:30 p.m.
