Waves Swimmers race at Alberta Summer provincial championships

The Medicine Hat Waves Swim Club sent three swimmers to the Alberta Summer Provincial Championships last weekend.

All three of the local swim club’s racers made it to the finals of at least one event at the races held in Edmonton.

Sydni Martens won three silver and two bronze medals, William Miller brought home one silver medal.

Kaden Goffinet (16): Finished eighth in Male 16 200m Breast, 16th in Male 16 100m Free, 17th in Male 16 50m Breast, 18th in Male 16 200m Free and 25th in Male 16 50m Free.

Sydni Martens (21): Finished second in the Female Para Open 100m Free, Female Para Open 100m Back and Female Para Open 100m Breast and third in Female Para Open 50m Free and Female Para Open 200m Free.

William Miller (17): Finished second in Male Open 400m IM, fifth in Male Open 1,500m Free, sixth in Male Open 400m Free, ninth in Male Open 200m IM, 15th in Male Open 200m Free, 20th in Male Open 100m Fly, 24th in Male Open 100m Free and 31st in Male Open 50m Free.

The Waves are off until the next season which begins on Sept. 8.
