Pair of Hatters represent at Cornhole provincial championships

Two Medicine Hat cornhole players competed at the provincial level over the weekend.

Tom and Carol Simpson, who operate the Southeast Alberta Sundogs Cornhole League, competed at the Cornhole provincial championships this weekend in Strathmore.

Both finished third in singles competition, with Tom competing in Tier 4 and Carol in Tier 5.

The Simpson’s will be competing in August at the national cornhole championships in Beaumont.

They will also be representing Zone 1 in Leduc at the 55+ Senior Games the week after nationals.

Once competitions have wrapped, the pair will be preparing a bid to host the 2026 ACA provincial championships in Medicine Hat.

They host the Bags in the Park every Wednesday night, a drop-in cornhole event open to anyone interested.
