@MedicineHatNews Teenaged bull buster Grady Young burst onto the scene at the Calgary Stampede this week with two top rides and a strong shot at heading to the finals of the cowtown The 19-year-old from Leader, Sask., scored two high-point rides to lead his pool heading to Wednesday’s final round-robin performance. The top-three riders from three pools and a wildcard contestant compete for a chance at the $50,000 showdown finale on Sunday. Young, who currently sits second on the Canadian rodeo standings in his second season on the pro tour, recorded a 91-point run to open his trip to Calgary, and followed up with another top ride of 87 on Tuesday. The cash total so far for the teenager’s trip to Calgary was $14,400 Fellow Canadian and reigning CFR champion bull rider William Barrows, of Foremost, was in the money on Tuesday and sat fifth in his pool before Wednesday night. Maple Creek’s Jared Parsonage finished sixth in Pool A action that concluded on Monday. 8
