newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Medicine Hat swimmer Rowynn Biffart raced at the Bell Canadian Swimming Trials last week. The Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club swimmer raced against 148 other clubs at the national meet hosted in Victoria, B.C. from June 7-12. The 16-year-old Biffart competed in 10 races at the junior age category. On June 7 she finished 21st in the 200m Breaststroke Prelim. A day later, she completed two personal bests with a fourth place finish in the 100m Butterfly Prelim and a fifth-place finish in the 100m Butterfly Final. Biffart swam in two races on June 9, finishing 15th in the 50m Freestyle Prelim and 14th in the 200m IM Prelim. On June 10 she swam in the 100m Freestyle Prelim, finishing 20th and took 45th in the 50m Breaststroke Prelim. On the final day of races-June 12, Biffart swam in three events, cracking the top-10 in her final race. She finished 22nd in the 200m Freestyle Prelim and swam to an 11th place in the 50m Butterfly Prelim. She then raced in the 50m Butterfly Final, finishing ninth. Biffart and the AMAC Swim club will host the Swim Alberta Summer Provincial Trials on June 27-29. 8
