Medicine Hat Manta Rays compete at Orca Invitational in Lethbridge

The Medicine Hat Manta Rays were in action at a swim meet in Lethbridge over the weekend.

The local swim club sent 15 swimmers to the Orca Invitational 2025 on Saturday.

They had several aggregate winners, Isla Johnson received gold in the 18 and under para, Saylee Mori received gold in the 9-10 girls, Arianna Mori received silver in the 7-8 girls and Ellis Johnson won gold in the 6 and under boys.

Here are all of the local results:

6 and under boys

Ellis Johnson: Finished first in the 25m back, 25m free and 50m Free and second in 25m flutter kick.

6 and under girls

Anaya Motsi: Finished third in 25m free and ninth in 25m flutter kick.

7-8 girls

Sadie Brees: Finished fourth in 50m back, eighth in 25m back, 11th in 50m free and 13th in 25m free.

Arianna Mori: Finished first in 50m breast, second in 50m back and third in 25m back and 50m free.

Sunai Motsi – Exhibition

7-8 boys

Charlie Hodges: Finished seventh in 25m free and 12th in 25m back.

9-10 girls

Saylee Mori: Finished first in 50m back and 100m IM and second in 50m breast and 100m free.

Anja Grigat: Finished second in 25m breast and 25m back, fifth in 50m free and seventh in 50m breast.

Ivana Motsi – Exhibition

Isla Johnson (para): Finished 12th in 50m breast, 22nd in 50m back, 23rd in 100m free and 32nd in 50m free.

9-10 boys

Dalton Beckman: Finished fourth in 50m breast and 100m free.

Rhett Winczura: Finished third in 50m free and 50m breast and seventh in 25m fly.

13-14 girls

Alexis Goffinet: Finished fifth in 50m free, seventh in 100m IM and eighth in 50m breast.

Dreya Olsen: Finished fifth in 50m fly and 100m IM, ninth in 50m breast and 11th in 50m free.

Relays

Mixed 8 and under Relay (Arianna Mori, Ellis Johnson, Sadie Brees, Charlie Hodges) finished second in the 4x25m free.

Girls 14 and under Relay (Alexis Goffinet, Saylee Mori, Dreya Olsen, Anja Grigat) finished fourth in the 4x50m free.

*Exhibition swimmers are not counted in rankings.
