MH Tennis Club hosts tourney for junior players

The Medicine Hat Tennis Club hosted their Juniors tournament on Saturday.

The local tennis club held the Tim Hortons Juniors Tennis Tournament at the club with 40 players taking part in the action.

At the U8 rookie level, Nash Zmurchyk came in first and Lyvia Hale finished second. Matthew Brace won the U8 Open division, Matilda Penny came in second place.

Hendrix Portelance defeated Hayden Waye 4-0 to win the U11 rookie division. The U11 open class was won by Eli Streifel, who defeated Asher Streifel 4-2.

Logan Gramlich defeated Eli Klein 6-1 to take first place in the U14 rookie division. The U14 open class was won by Emmett Fichter, who defeated Oliver Penny 6-3.

Up next for the Medicine Hat Tennis Club is the South Country Co-op Doubles showdown this weekend, with the first action starting today.
