The Medicine Hat U15 Thunder Black softball team picked up three wins in Lethbridge over the weekend.
They lost the first however, falling 10-8 to the Lethbridge U15 Heat D Saturday after allowing three runs in the top of the fourth inning.
Ryann Lewandowski had three RBIs with two hits and two runs scored, Breanna Lanuk had two hits, scoring a run. Lewandowski started the game on the mound, striking out six batters in four innings of work.
They began their winning ways later in the day, beating the YYC Red 11-5.
Dylen Pancoast and Lanuk each tallied a hit with two runs scored, Janessa Weber and Lewandowski each had a hit, RBI and a run scored. Weber also started the game, striking out the side in both of her two innings of work. Addyson Darr worked one frame with one strikeout.
They carried momentum into Sunday, beating the Calgary Blue 11-10 with a pair of five-run innings.
Emma Pinnell led the offence with four RBIs on two hits. Chloe Armstrong had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI, and both Hadley Vold and Weber had a hit with an RBI and a run scored. Kendal Geddes-Martin started the contest, recording three strikeouts in 1.1 innings pitched. Darr worked the last two frames with a pair of strikeouts.
The U15 Thunder Black finished the weekend with a 15-8 win over the Cranbrook Rockies.
They enjoyed a mix of offensive leaders, with Jaycee Pope, Lanuk and Calico Jones each recording a hit, RBI and a run scored. Pancoast had two runs scored with a hit, and all three of Geddes-Martin, Pinnell and Morgan Gage each scored twice.
Lewandowski pitched the whole game with six strikeouts in three innings of work.
U13
The Medicine Hat U13 Thunder White had four games over the weekend, picking up a three-pack of wins. They also started the weekend with a loss, falling 11-2 to the U13 Heat.
Julie Giesbrecht had a hit and a run scored in the loss. Kassidy Etienne struck out seven batters in 2.2 innings pitched. Giesbrecht threw an inning with a strikeout.
The Thunder White beat YYC 11-6 later in the day Saturday.
Arya Goulard had two RBIs, two runs scored and a hit in the win. Makelti Brown and Etienne had two runs scored with a hit.
Madelyn Ulmer started the game, recording three strikeouts in two innings. Brown worked two outs and Eteinne finished the game with a pair of strikeouts in an inning of work.
They beat Brooks Travel 18-3 on Sunday, led by Goulard’s five RBIs, three hits and two runs scored. All three of Ella Halladay, Etienne and Madelyn Ulmer scored twice with a hit each.
Brown pitched three inning with seven strikeouts, Ulmer worked a frame with a punch-out.
The U13 Thunder White finished the weekend with an 11-5 win over the YYC Elite D.
Etienne had two hits with two RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Lilah Vair scored twice, tallying a hit and an RBI.
Emery Tuchscherer worked three innings with two strikeouts, Etienne recorded five strikeouts in two innings of work.
U11
The U11 Thunder Black had four games over the weekend,
They opened the weekend with a 12-4 loss to the Lethbridge Heat on Saturday. Macie Britton had a hit and a run scored. Journey Kohls pitched an inning with a strikeout, Jaelie Varner worked 1.1 frames with two strikeouts and Harper Clark recorded an out.
The Thunder lost 7-2 to YYC. Clark had a hit with an RBI and a run scored, Britton scored twice. Chloe Taker had three strikeouts in two innings of work. Britton pitched two frames with two strikeouts.
They los 15-3 to the YYC Elite.
Britton had a hit, an RBI and a run scored in the loss, Kohls had a hit and an RBI and Clark had an RBI with a hit.
Alayna Giesbrecht worked 1.1 frames with four strikeouts, Clark pitched 1.1 innings.
They finished the weekend off with a 15-7 win over the Cranbrook Rays.
Both Toker and Clark had three RBIs with two hits and two runs scored, Giesbrecht had two hits with two runs scored and Scarlet Leahy had two hits with an RBI and a run scored.
Leahy started the game, recording five punch-outs in two innings of work. Ava Lanuk recorded two outs, one strikeout and Jaelie Varner pitched as well.
U17
The U17 Thunder Red played two games, splitting a pair of games Sunday against the Foothills Fury Elite.
Charli Allinson had three RBIs with two hits and a run scored, Taryn Brost had three hits with two RBIs, and Gracie Ulmer scored three times with a hit and two RBIs. Both Jorja Perry and Peightyn Williams had two runs scored with a hit and an RBI.
Brost started the game, recording four strikeouts in four innings of work. Adriene Campbell worked two frames with four strikeouts.
They lost in a rematch with Foothills, falling 8-6.
Ulmer had two hits with three RBIs, Allinson had a hit with an RBI.
Kendall Smith worked 2.2 innings with a strikeout, Campbell pitched a frame with a pair of punch-outs.
