The Medicine Hat Boxing Club had seven fighters in action over the weekend.

The local boxing club had fighters attend provincials and others at a sub novice tournament.

In the sub novice bouts, Rylan McCulloch defeated Joey Marino from Spruce Grove in his first match before losing to Ronan Golinski from Calgary Bowmont in the final. Mardik Kasarjian defeated Toby Lypchuck from Humble Airdrie and then lost in the final to James Olivine from Marshall Edmonton.

At provincials, Kade Steiger lost to Heorhil Miliakov from Olympus Chestermere ending up with a bronze medal.

Gavin Russell defeated Dominic Coltman, moving on to lose in the final to Liam Pagaling from Calgary Boxing in what head coach Kerry Fahlman described as a very close split decision loss.

Jacob Walne defeated Brock Klimosko from Lacombe to win gold. Nate Vossler defeated Adam Al-Khataeb from Edmonton Westchester and moved on to defeat Jake Gnutel from Southside Edmonton. Vossler advances to the provincial final to be fought at the Golden Gloves.

Asher Softic was uncontested, which means he, Vossler and Walne all qualified for the Canadian Championships in Quebec City at the end of May.
