The Medicine Hat Cubs season came to a close Thursday night. The Cubs lost 4-1 at the Kinplex to the Okotoks Bisons, falling 3-1 in their best-of-five South finals series. Medicine Hat lost Game 3 Tuesday in Okotoks, 4-3. Okotoks scored once in the fist period and twice in the second period for three goals after 40 minutes. The Cubs’ lone goal came in the middle frame, with Nolen Sutherland scoring his third of the playoffs. The Bisons scored in the third period for the 4-1 final. Tyler Wakelam made 44 saves in the loss as the Cubs were outshot 48-24. See Saturday’s News for more on the Cubs’ series loss. 6
