AMAC Swim Club races at winter provincial trails

The Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club raced in Calgary over the weekend.

The AMAC club sent 12 qualified swimmers to race against 33 other teams over the weekend, with the local swimmers returning with 20 medals.

Nayla Berg (13): Had one new best time, finishing 13th in 200m breast prelim, 15th in 200m free relay, 19th in 100m breast prelim, 21st in 50m free prelim, 23rd in 200m IM prelim, 26th in 100m IM prelim, 45th in 100m free prelim and 55th in 50m free prelim.

Matthew Daley (17): Had five new best times, finishing second in 200m medley relay, third in 200m free relay, fifth in 50m breast prelim and 50m breast final, ninth in 100m breast prelim, 14th in 50m fly prelim, 12th in 100m IM prelim, 16th in 50m free prelim and 23rd in 100m free prelim.

Westin Endres (17): Had three new best times, finishing third in 200m back prelim and 200m back final, fourth in 200m breast final, fifth in 100m breast prelim, sixth in 200m breast prelim, seventh in 100m back final and 100m breast final, eighth in 100m IM final, ninth in 100m IM prelim and 100m back prelim and 21st in 50m free prelim and 100m free prelim.

Wyatt Gage (16): Had eight new best times, finishing second in 200m medley relay, third in 200m free relay, fourth in 100m fly final, fifth in 50m free final, 100m free prelim and 100m back prelim, sixth in 50m free prelim, 50m fly final, 100m fly prelim and 100m back final, seventh in 200m free prelim and 200m free final and eighth in 50m fly prelim and 100m free final.

Lauren Gainsborough (14): Had 10 new best times, finishing first in 200m breast final, second in 50m breast prelim and 50m breast final, third in 100m breast final and 200m breast prelim, fifth in 100m IM final, seventh in 100m IM prelim and 100m breast prelim, 15th in 100m fly prelim and 200m free relay, 16th in 50m fly prelim and 18th in 100m free prelim and 200m medley prelim.

Estelle Grisak (14): Had four new best times, finishing 15th in 50m back prelim and 200m free relay, 17th in 100m breast prelim, 18th in 200m free relay and 200m back prelim, 20th in 200m free prelim, 21st in 100m IM, 23rd in 100m back prelim and 38th in 100m free prelim.

Breagh Kohlman (13): Had two new best times, finishing 10th in 200m fly prelim, 18th in 200m medley relay, 23rd in 100m fly prelim, 32nd in 100m IM prelim, 35th in 50m breast prelim, 40th in 100m breast prelim, 47th in 200m IM prelim and 49th in 200m breast prelim.

Olivia Liebenberg (12): Had eight new best times, finishing 10th in 100m free prelim, 12th in 200m free prelim and 400m free timed final, 15th in 200m free relay, 18th in 200m medley relay, 33rd in 50m fly prelim, 38th in 50m free prelim, 41st in 100m back prelim and 46th in 50m back prelim.

Johnathan Marshall (17): Had five new best times, finishing first in 50m breast final, second in 50m breast prelim and 200m medley relay, third in 50m free prelim, 100m fly final and 200m free relay, fourth in 50m free final, 100m fly prelim, 100m breast prelim, 100m breast final, 100m IM prelim and 100m IM final, fifth in 50m fly prelim and 50m fly final, sixth in 100m free final and seventh in 100m free prelim.

Amethyst Millar (17): Had five new best times, finishing fifth in 100m IM prelim and 100m IM final, 11th in 50m breast prelim, 13th in 100m breast prelim, 14th in 50m back prelim, 15th in 50m fly prelim and 100m back prelim and 22nd in 100m free prelim.

Aliya Seeley (15): Had five new best times, finishing first in 400m IM final, third in 800m free final, fifth in 200m IM prelim, sixth in 200m IM final, seventh in 400m free final, 14th in 200m free prelim, 15th in 100m back prelim and 20th in 50m fly prelim.

Leo Yonkman (15): Had eight new best times, finishing first in 50m breast prelim, 100m IM final and 100m breast final, second in 50m breast final, 100m free prelim, 100m breast prelim, 200m IM prelim, 200m IM final and 200m medley relay, third in 100m IM prelim and 200m free relay, sixth in 100m free final and 200m breast prelim, seventh in 50m free final and eighth in 50m free prelim.

Next meet for AMAC is the Pronghorn Classic in Lethbridge on March 14-16.
