The Medicine Hat Cubs dropped Game 3 Tuesday on the road. After allowing three goals in the first period, the Cubs mounted a comeback attempt ultimately falling 4-3 to trail the Okotoks Bisons 2-1 in the best-of-five series. The Bisons scored three times on 22 shots in the first period for the early 3-0 lead. Medicine Hat responded in the middle frame with a pair of goals. Captain Callen Prosofsky and forward Mason Osinski scored to make it a 3-2 game after 40 minutes. Caleb Garrecht scored 56 seconds into the third period to tie the game up at 3-3 but it was the Bisons who responded 49 seconds later for the 4-3 final lead. Tyler Wakelam made 51 saves in the loss as the Cubs were outshot 55-28. The series will return to Medicine Hat on Thursday as the Cubs look to stave off elimination in Game 4 at the Kinplex.
