Minor Hockey roundup: U18AA Hounds pick up pair of weekend wins

The Medicine Hat U18AA Hounds were victorious over the weekend.

The Hounds won both weekend games, beating the Lethbridge Hounds 4-1 on Saturday and topping the Foothills Bisons 5-3 on Sunday.

In Saturday’s win, four different Hounds found the back of the net, with Easton Kurpjuweit, Slade McFadzen, Randen Collier and Joxan Bohrn each scoring a goal. Kolter Gans made 22 saves.

Bohrn led the offence Sunday with a goal and an assist. Mavric Ward, Joey Clarke, Jaxon Svrivener and Grady Ford each scored, Kayne Wright made 36 stops.

The U18AA Hounds (16-8-0-0-3) are on the road Friday before hosting the Okotoks Oilers on Saturday at the Kinplex.

U16

The U16AA Hounds had two games over the weekend.

They lost 5-0 at home to the Bow Valley Timberwolves on Saturday and fell 4-1 to the Okotoks Oilers on Sunday.

Connor Schmaltz made 45 stops in Saturday’s loss to Bow Valley. In Sunday’s game, Maecen Nelson scored the Hounds’ lone goal, and Treyton Wilson made 49 saves.

The U16AA Hounds (0-27) host CRAA Gold on Sunday at the Hockey Hounds arena.

U15

The U15AAA South East Athletic Club Tigers dropped a pair of games to the NWCAA Calgary Flames over the weekend.

They lost 1-0 Saturday before falling 8-4 on Sunday, both games at the Hockey Hounds arena.

Paxton Smigelski made 28 saves in Saturday’s loss and made 44 more saves in Sunday’s loss.

In the game Sunday, Canaan Fleck had a goal and an assist, and all three of Carter Jarvis, Nelson Sonna Soufo and Kovann Chisholm each scored as well.

The U15AAA SEAC Tigers (9-13-0-1-1) are on the road for three games this weekend.

Medicine Hat’s U15AA SEAC Tigers lost a pair of home games.

The Tigers lost 2-1 Saturday to the Lethbridge Hurricanes and 3-2 to the Golden Suns on Sunday.

Rhys Greggains scored the Tigers lone goal Saturday, Hunter Munro made 29 saves. On Sunday, Evander Leupold scored twice and Bryden Tschritter made 34 saves.

The U15AA SEAC Tigers (10-12-0-0-5) host the East Kootenay Avalanche on Saturday before playing on the road Sunday.
