The Cubs lost 5-4 in overtime Saturday at Strathmore to the Wheatland Kings and bounced back with a 6-3 win Sunday at Cochrane over the Generals. In Saturday’s overtime loss, Nolan Sutherland, Jacob Hazzard, Denyn Smith and Caleb Garrecht each had a goal and an assist. Tyler Wakelam made 33 saves. On Sunday, Callen Prosofsky scored twice and four skaters had a goal and an assist. Kyle Woolridge, Hayden King, Makhi Carriere and Garrecht each had two-point nights. Adam Ranger made 28 saves. The Cubs (16-6-2) remain in second place in the Southern division, trailing the first place Okotoks Bisons (19-3-1). Medicine Hat returns to the Kinplex this weekend, hosting the Wheatland Kings on Friday and the first place Bisons on Saturday. Friday’s contest gets underway at 7:30 p.m., Saturday’s at 3 p.m. 8
