Ringette roundup: U10 Step 3 Mustangs play in Strathmore over weekend

The Medicine Hat U10 Step 3 Mustangs were on the road this weekend for ringette action.

The Step 3 Mustangs visited Strathmore for a set of league games this weekend.

They lost 7-4 in the first game. Sloan Loehndorf picked up three points with two goals and an assist. Zoe Aarden and Aphten Myram scored a goal each, Charlie Lowe recorded an assist. Isabelle Perrault made 24 saves in net.

The Mustangs took an early lead in the second game, battling back and forth before ultimately falling 8-7. Lowe had a hat trick with two assists, Loehndorf found the net twice. Myram and Rowyn Geeenlay added one each to the score. Jayla-Ray Klaudt and Addy McKinley each had an assist, Blaire Dirk made 21 saves between the pipes.

The U10 Step 3 Mustangs next action is this weekend at the Ed Horvath tournament.

The U10 Step 2 Mustangs had two games against Airdrie on Sunday.

Hailee Kopeck scored twice in the first game, with Lily Steiner, Laila Loehndorf and Hudson Kerluke each finding the back of the net. Harper Fuller was in net.

In the Mustangs’ second game, Nora Dunn scored five times, Rozlyn Moch scored four times and both Fuller and Kopeck scoring twice Ayva Beebe was in net.

The next action for the U10 Step 2 Mustangs is the Ed Horvath tournament.

The U10 Step 1 Mustangs had two games Saturday, facing Indus and Airdrie.

Against Indus, Ayva Beebe scored five times, Kylie Klaudt had four goals, Brielle St Laurent had three goals, Addison Clegg scored a pair and both Briar Dirk and Thea Pancoast scored as well.

In the second game, St. Laurent scored five times, Beebe had a hat trick and Klaudt scored. Beebe and Pancoast were in net.

The U10 Step 1 Mustangs will also be in action at the Ed Horvath tournament.

U12

The U12 Mustangs played a pair of Chinook league games against the Indus Lightning on the road Sunday.

Zayda Dawson was in net for both games of the double header against Indus.

The first game went back and forth, ending in a 9-9 tie. Brinley Cross led the Mustangs offence with four goals and an assist. Grace Stirling had a pair of goals with an assist and Evangeline Robins had a goal with two helpers. Katie Vis and Jorja Sadler each scored.

The second game ended in a 10-7 Medicine Hat loss. Robins scored twice, Sadler had a goal with two assists, Stirling and three helpers and Cross tallied a goal and an assist.

Rhya Weinberger and Katie-Lee Sehn each scored, Aleah Barretto found the back of the net for her first goal of the season.

The U12 Mustangs will be in action this weekend, starting Friday, at the Ed Horvath tournament.
