Minor hockey roundup: U18AA Hounds pick up a pair of home victories

The Medicine Hat U18AA Hounds had a winning weekend at home.

They kicked the weekend off with a 4-3 win over the East Kootenay Avalanche on Saturday.

Grady Ford had a goal and an assist, all three of Parker Kienzle, Davin Torgerson and Colby Motz found the back of the net. Kolter Gans made 53 saves.

They carried the momentum into a 7-4 win Sunday over the Olds Grizzlys.

Owen Gustafson had a pair of goals with an assist, Randen Collier had a goal and an assist. Tate Bowal notched a goal and two assists and Ethan Hall, Slade McFadzen and Torgerson each scored a solo marker. Ford had a trio of assists, Kayne Wright made 39 saves.

The U18AA Hounds (7-4-0-3) are off until Nov. 30.

U17

The U17AAA South East Athletic Club Tigers had a pair of road games.

The Tigers lost the first game, falling 3-2 in overtime Saturday to the Edmonton Canadians. Aliaksei Keiko had a goal and an assist, and Nixon Davis had a goal. Kayden Van Ham made 34 saves.

On Saturday the Tigers tied the Knights of Columbus Centennials 3-3. Illya Khazov scored twice and Dane Friedt tickled twine with a solo marker. Carson Jerome made 40 saves.

The U17AAA SEAC Tigers (2-6-1-2) are on the road for a pair of games this weekend.

U16

The U16AA Hounds had just one game, falling 6-1 to the CNHA Northstars on Saturday.

Cole Hodgins had the Hounds’ lone goal, Connor Schmaltz had 36 saves.

The U16AA Hounds (0-11) have a pair of home games this weekend, hosting the Airdrie Lightning on Saturday and the CBHA Hawks on Sunday.

U15

The Medicine Hat U15AA SEAC Tigers copy and pasted their games this weekend, with a pair of 3-3 ties.

They were even 3-3 with the Golden Suns on Friday and also had a 3-3 draw with the Wheatland Warriors on Saturday.

In Friday’s draw, Dylan Dick and Sylis Robins each had a goal and an assist, Mason Pollard scored a solo tally. Brayden Tschritter made 24 saves.

Against Wheatland, Robins scored twice and Shane Mathe scored a goal. Everett Ward had a pair of assists. Hunter Munro made 22 saves.

The U15AA SEAC Tigers (5-5-0-4) are off until Nov. 30.
