SAHA host the Northern Alberta Xtreme for a pair of games, winning 5-1 Saturday before falling 2-1 in a shootout loss Sunday. Marley Howes and Sophie Erlam each had a goal and two assists in the win, Taylor Crocker had a goal and an assist and Kailey Karpan and Teagan Torgerson each scored. Phoenix Buckler made 24 saves. In Sunday’s loss, Julie Barlow scored SAHA’s lone goal, Hannah Palumbo made 32 saves. SAHA’s women’s team 5-4-2) is on the road for a four-pack of games in Calgary Nov. 22-25. U18 The local academy’s U18 men’s team had a trio of home games, picking up three wins. They beat the Delta Hockey Academy 8-3 on Friday, topped the North Shore Warriors on 5-2 Saturday and overcame the Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy 7-4 on Sunday. In Friday’s win, Ty Hynes had two goals and two assists. Medicine Hat Tigers prospect Luke Ruptash had a pair of goals, defenceman Koray Bozkaya had a goal with four assists and d-man Riley Steen had a pair of assists. Josiah Jackson and Cole Fisher each had a goal with an assist. Kannen Kirkwood made 45 saves. Against North Shore, Hynes scored twice, Tigers’ prospect Avery Watson had a goal and an assist, and both Fisher and Jackson had a goal. Mattias Radke made 27 saves. Cash Olson wrapped up the weekend with two goals and an assist in Sunday’s win. Jackson had a goal with an assist and all four of Fisher, Ty Wasyluk, Kingston Chisholm and Hynes each scored. Radke started the game, with 20 assists in 51:47 of action. Kirkwood made four saves in relief. SAHA’s U18 men’s team (7-7) is off until Nov. 22 for the first of a three-day, three-game road trip. U17 SAHA’s U17 men’s team had a trio of road games this weekend. They lost the first game 4-3 to the Northern Alberta Xtreme. Brennan Finke, Matthew Cameron-Skidmore and Carson Ward each scored for SAHA, Hunter Zawislak made 33 saves. SAHA won their second game, beating OHA Edmonton 9-3 on Saturday. Ward led the offence with two goals and two assists. Kutcher Aquila had a pair of twine ticklers and Aidan Poulin put together a goal with two assists. Liam Green had a goal and an assist and Rhyder Arnold had a goal. Rem martins made 34 saves. They finished the weekend with a rematch against NAX, falling 6-2. Owen Fisher and Aquila sacred for SAHA, Zahislak and Martins combined for 35 saves. SAHA’s U17 men’s team (4-6) is off until Nov. 22-24 when they head on the road for a pair of games. 23
