sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The South Alberta Hockey Academy U18 men’s team won two of three games over the weekend. SAHA beat the Indigenous Sports Academy 8-1 on Friday. Ty Hynes had two goals with two assists and Ty Wasyluk had a pair of goals with an assist. Cole Fisher had a goal with two assists, Josiah Jackson had a goal and an assist, and both Sutton Verot and Owen Brees scored a goal. Kannen Kirkwood had 26 saves. They carried momentum into Saturday, beating Notre Dame Academy 12-1. Both Verot and Fisher tallied two goals with an assist, Hynes worked a goal with two assists, Ryker Klassen, Kingston Chisholm and Luke Warrener each had a goal and an assist, and Avery Watson had four assists. Cash Olson, Koray Bozkaya, Wasyluk and Brees all scored solo tallies. Mattias Radke stopped 14 shots. They finished the weekend with a 4-2 loss to the Prairie Hockey Academy. Ty Krooshoop and Fisher each scored, Radke stopped 30 shots. SAHA’s U18 men’s team (4-5) have a pair of home games this weekend against the Edge academy, playing at 3:15 p.m. Saturday and 10:15 a.m. Sunday at the Big Marble Go Centre. Women’s SAHA’s U18 women’s team had a pair of games against RHA Winnipeg over the weekend. They lost the first game 5-3 on Saturday. Kamryn Reiber had a pair of goals and Keyana Bert had a goal and two assists. Hannah Palumbo made 10 saves. They dropped the second game, falling 6-1 to RHA Winnipeg. Riley Gramlich scored SAHA’s lone goal, Phoenix Buckler made 25 saves. SAHA’s U18 women’s team (4-6) are off until Nov. 9-10, when they host the Northern Alberta Xtreme at Big Marble Go for a pair of games. 17
