The U19 Medicine Hat Mustangs kicked off the 2024-25 season in winning fashion.

This weekend marked the first appearance of the Medicine Hat Ringette Association’s unified name, the Mustangs.

The U19 team hosted the Lethbridge Rattlers on Saturday for a pair of games, winning both contests.

They kicked things off with a 6-5 comeback win. After an early lead, Lethbridge was up 4-3 at the half. The U19 Mustangs scored three goals in the second half for the win.

Mackenzie Tindall led the offence with three goals, and first-year U19 skater Erika Want and third-year players Sophie Kerr and Hannah Thompson each added singles.

Saturday’s matchups were the first contests between the Mustangs and Rattlers since Medicine Hat’s loss in the gold medal final of the 2024 provincials.

The Mustangs rebounded from an early deficit in the second game, leading 4-2 at the half. They held on for the 9-6 win.

Thompson and Want scored twice in the win, and Stennick, Grace Ammann, Kerr, Tindall and Kasey Martin each added a goal.

Kyree Stern-Rebmann stood tall between the pipes in the wins.

The U19 Mustangs are off to St. Albert this weekend for the annual Turkey Ring tournament.
