The Medicine Hat Firefit team held their own in Saskatchewan last weekend.
The local team competed at the Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Nunavut Firefit Championship regional held in Humboldt last weekend.
The team, which included Steven Seymour, Jason Labash, Dylan Yanke and Josh Fauth, excelled in several categories, clinching second place in the Open Team category.
Individually, Labash secured third place, while Seymour prevailed with a first-place finish in the over 45-year-old male category. Fauth, a firefit rookie, made a strong debut in the Open Men’s category, clocking a time of 1:48.98, finishing 16th.
Yanke demonstrated perseverance during his individual run, navigating the 175-pound rescue manikin.
The team also achieved success in the Men’s Open Relay category with a second-place finish. Labash and Seymour took first place in the Tech2 Over 45 Male category.
