Rubber was burned and points were awarded this weekend at the Medicine Hat Drag Strip.
The Medicine Hat Drag Racing Association hosted a points weekend at the strip, with 24 different runs.
The weekend kicked off with the Street Friday competition, won by Kevin Vandenberg of Shaughnessy, Alta. Kelsie Epp of Cypress County finished second.
The Friday Night bike race was won by Redcliff’s Adam Hettler. He finished ahead of Kyle Valk from Medicine Hat.
Saturday’s races got started with the Jr. Thunder class, won by Medicine Hat’s Paxton Frey, who finished ahead of Javyn Klassen, also of Medicine Hat.
Allyson Keim of Claresholm won the Jr. Lightning class, with Daniel O’Connor of Morinville, Alta. finishing second.
Grad Schaan of Dunmore won the Jr. Street class and Paige Munsch of Cypress County finished second.
The Sportsman class was won by Roy Valk of Medicine Hat. He beat Lethbridge’s Kevin Sassa.
Chance Edelmann of Medicine Hat finished in first place of the Pro Class, with Brent Buckenham of Carseland coming in second place.
Ed Vanderkoch of Barnwell, Alta. won the Super Pro class, beating out Conlie Wilk of Dunmore.
The Pro Bike class was won by Medicine Hat’s Riley Toth, finishing ahead of fellow local racer, Zach Toth.
They also held a rainout race on Saturday, making up for a lost day of racing on June 18.
Those results were kicked off in the Jr. Thunder class, won by Aven Steinkey of Dunmore. Paxton Frey of Medicine Hat finished second.
John Nastiuk of Calgary won the Jr. Lightning class, with Austin Markusson of Medicine Hat finishing second.
Medicine Hat’s Paige Munsch won the Jr. Street class, beating out Gray Schaan of Dunmore.
Duarte Silva of Medicine Hat won the Sportsman Class, finishing ahead of Teagan Thorpe of Medicine Hat.
Brendan Ashby of Medicine Hat took first place in the Pro Class, with Brent Buckenham of Carseland coming in second.
The rainout Super Pro class was won by Monty Beagle of High River. Aaron Steinkey of Dunmore finished second.
The final race of the makeup slate, the Pro Bike class, was won by Medicine Hat’s Riley Toth. They beat Zach Toth, also of Medicine Hat.
The weekend of racing finished Sunday, with eight classes on display.
Brandon Peck of Carseland won the Jr. Thunder class, beating out second place Paxton Frey of Medicine Hat.
Ryder Harrison of Raymond won the Jr. Lightning, with Cole Caron of High River finishing second.
Gray Schaan of Dunmore won the Jr. Street race, with Ryder Harrison coming in second place.
The Sportsman Class was won by Scott Caron of High River. He beat Dean Adie of Medicine Hat. Tyler Zeller of Medicine Hat won the Pro class, beating Brandon Caruso of Lethbridge.
The Super Pro class was won by Kason Kendel of Brooks. Monty Beagle of High River finished second.
Riley Toth finished the sweep of the weekend, winning a third Pro Bike class. Dave Toth finished second.
The King of the Track class was won by Riley Toth of Medicine Hat. Chance Edelmann, also of Medicine Hat, finished second.
