sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs had three games before the weekend. The Monarchs played a three-game set against the Billings Scarlets. They kicked things off with two games on Thursday. The Monarchs lost the first game, falling 9-2. Man Heintz, Trevin Rester and Pryce Velichko each had a hit and both Cade Harrison and Ryler Straarup scored runs. Jeff Bullock started the game on the mound, working 4.1 innings with seven strikeouts. Kayne Olinski came into the game in relief, working 1.2 innings. They lost the second game to Billings, falling 5-0. Bullock, Straarup, Landon MacPherson and Cade Much had hits in the loss. Moch started the game on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings. Olinski pitched. 1.1 innings in relief. They finished things off with a 17-2 loss Friday to the Scarlets. Velichko and Ressler each had a hit with a run scored and Olinski had a hit with an RBI. Parker Hunt started the game on the mound, pitching an inning. Velichko came into the game in relief and Asha Frey took over, working two innings with a punch-out. Ressler pitched an inning to finish the game. The Monarchs head to Helena on Wednesday for the Montana/Alberta Class AA State tournament. They open their tournament against the Missoula Mavericks at 1 p.m. 13
