AMAC Swim Club races at Edmonton Invitational

The local swim club sent 14 swimmers to the Edmonton Keyano International, racing against 720 other swimmers from 26 clubs from Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Ontario. Gage Anderson (12): Finished third in 50m Back prelim, fourth in 100m Back prelim, 100m Back final, 200m Back prelim and 200m Back final, sixth in 100m Fly final (13 year old provincial trial time), eighth in 100m Fly prelim, ninth in 100m Free prelim and 100m Free final, 11th in 50m Breast prelim, 13th in 200m Free prelim and 18th in 50m Free prelim. Abigail Begin (16): Finished 15th in 50m Back final, 18th in 50m Back prelim, 28th in 50m Fly prelim, 41st in 100m Back prelim, 47th in 200m IM prelim, 57th in 50m Breast prelim and 61st in 50m Free prelim. Nayla Berg (12): Finished 10th in 200m Breast prelim and 200m Breast final, 11th in 100m Breast prelim, 12th in 50m Breast prelim, 22nd in 50m Fly prelim, 26th in 100m Free prelim, 28th in 50m Free prelim and 33rd in 100m Back prelim. Rowynn Biffart (15): Finished first in 200m IM final, third in 200m IM prelim, fourth in 200m Breast final, fifth in 100m Fly final, sixth in 50m Free final, eighth in 100m Fly prelim, 200m Breast prelim and 200m Free final, ninth in 50m Free prelim and 200m Free prelim, 11th in 50m Breast final and 100m Breast prelim, 14th in 100m Breast final, 15th in 50m Breast prelim and 23rd in 400m Free prelim. Wyatt Gage (15): Finished eighth in 200m Fly prelim, ninth in 50m Back prelim, 50m Back final and 200m Fly final, 13th in 50m Fly prelim, 16th in 200m IM prelim, 17th in 100m Fly prelim, 18th in 50m Free prelim and 20th in 100m Free final. Lauren Gainsborough (13): Finished ninth in 100m Breast final (new 13-14 provincial trial time), 10th in 100m Breast prelim, 13th in 50m Breast prelim, 18th in 50m Free prelim, 20th in 100m Free prelim and 100m Fly prelim, 21st in 50m Fly prelim, 22nd in 200m IM prelim and 23rd in 100m Back prelim. Olivia Liebenberg (11): Finished third in 50m Free final, fifth in 50m Free prelim, 12th in 100m Breast prelim, 14th in 100m Free prelim, 16th in 200m Free prelim, 23rd in 100m Back prelim and 28th in 400m Free prelim (new 11 and under provincial trial time). Jonathan Marshall (17): Finished 31st in 50m Free prelim, 34th in 50m Breast prelim (new 16 and over provincial trial time), 43rd in 200m IM prelim and 50th in 100m Free prelim. Caen McWilliams (14): Finished third in 200m Back final (new 16 and over provincial champs time and 14 year old Canadian national time), fourth in 200m Back prelim, fifth in 50m Back prelim and 50m Back final, sixth in 100m Back prelim, 200m Free prelim and 200m Free final (new AMAC Club Record 13-14 Boys), seventh in 100m Back final, ninth in 50m Free prelim, 50m Free final and 50m Fly final (new 14-15 provincial champs time and 16 and over provincial trials time), 10th in 50m Fly prelim, 12th in 100m Free prelim and 24th in 50m Breast prelim. Lily McWilliams (13): Finished third in 50m Free final (13 Year old western qualifying time), fifth in 50m Back prelim (15 and over provincial trial time), 7th in 50m Free prelim, 8th in 50m Back final, ninth in 100m Free prelim and 200m Free prelim, 10th in 50m Fly prelim and 50m Fly final (15 and over provincial trial time), 10th in 100m Free final and 200m Free final (new 15 and over provincial trial time), 15th in 50m Breast final and 22nd in 400m Free prelim. Masao Mori (12): Finished first in 50m Free final, 200m IM prelim, 200m IM final and 200m Back final (16 and over provincial trial time, youth recognition 12 year old and AMAC Club Record 11-12 year old), second in 50m Back prelim, 50m Back final, 50m Free prelim and 200m Back prelim, third in 200m Fly final (14-15 provincial trial time and AMAC Club Record 11-12 year old), 200m Fly prelim, 400m Free prelim and 400m IM final (New youth recognition 12 year old), fourth in 400m IM prelim, fifth in 400m Free final (16 and over provincial trial time, youth recognition 12 year old and AMAC Club Record 11-12 year old) and sixth in 800m Free (new 16 and over provincial time). Aliya Seeley (14): Finished 14th in 400m IM prelim, 21st in 200m IM prelim, 24th in 800m Free, 26th in 200m Free prelim, 35th in 50m Free prelim and 39th in 400m Free prelim. Micah Smith (13): Finished 17th in 50m Free, 27th in 100m Back and 28th in 100m Free. Leo Yonkman (14): Finished 17th in 50m Breast prelim, 19th in 50m Fly prelim, 22nd in 50m Free prelim, 26th in 200m IM prelim, 29th in 200m Free prelim, 32nd in 100m Free prelim and 34th in 100m Back prelim. The regular season has finished up for AMAC but approximentaly 12-14 swimmers from AMAC will continue training, with eight swim sessions per week, until provincials and nationals at the end of July. Rowynn Biffart and Caen McWilliams will be attending the Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships in Toronto on July 24-30. AMAC also has swimmers qualified for the summer provincials long course will be attending a championship meet at the Kinsmen in Edmonton, from July 25-28. 21-20
