The Canadian Hockey League’s deadline for WHL teams to submit an intent to bid on the 2026 Memorial Cup passed Friday.

The Kelowna Rockets were the lone team to publicly announce their intent, doing so in a press conference Thursday.

Any other WHL teams interested in making a bid to host the 2026 Memorial Cup were required to submit an intent to bid by 3 p.m. MST Friday. No other teams made a public announcement with their intent as of press time.

The CHL will be releasing information next week regarding all teams who have submitted an intent to bid.

The News contacted the Medicine Hat Tigers for comment on whether the club submitted an intent to bid on the 2026 tournament, but did not hear back.

The winning bid is to tentatively be announced by the CHL in late November.

Hey guys! I love watching reviews of CHL hockey games on YouTube, but my internet at home often lets me down. A friend who moved to an island with limited internet told me about a site he uses to download YouTube videos. I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. The site is easy to use, no apps required. I especially liked that you can choose the quality of the video, which helps save space on your computer. If you want to download match reviews or other videos, check out https://easytube.pro/ – it’s really convenient and useful!
