The Medicine Hat Tigers get their first look this weekend at their recent draft class.

The Tigers are hosting the annual prospects orientation camp this weekend for their 2009-born draft class, coming three weeks after the Western Hockey League’s prospects draft on May 9.

The WHL draft was highlighted by the Tigers making four trades but they did make nine draft selections, led by St. Albert forward Luke Ruptash. Medicine Hat has yet to sign any of their 2024 draft picks.

U.S. born forward, Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll, told the News after signing with the Tigers in April he would also be attending the camp.

Players will get their first look at the Tigers’ facilities at Co-op Place as well as listen to presentations regarding the WHL’s scholarship program and what it means to be a Tiger.

Ice times will be held at the Hockey Hounds arena, with players hitting the ice for the first time Friday from 8:15-9:30 p.m. They’ll have another skate Saturday, with a goalie session from 2:45-3:30 p.m. and a skate at 3:34-5 p.m.

The weekend wraps up with a team back vs. team orange scrimmage Sunday from 9:45-11 a.m.
