sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Medicine Hat College Rattlers are getting two more plaques inducted into the ACAC’s hall of fame. Two former Rattlers, Jennifer Green and Mike Havey, have been named into the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Hall of Fame and will be inducted May 10 in Red Deer. Green was a large part of the Rattlers women’s volleyball team from 1990-94, earning three accolades in her time, ACAC 1st Team All-Conference in 1991-92 and 1993-94, ACAC second Team All-Conference in 1992-93 and CCAA All Canadian in 1991-92. The college’s release said Green’s commitment to both academics and athletics was exemplary. “Her remarkable achievements on the court, coupled with her academic dedication, have solidified her as one of the college’s most celebrated athletes,” the release said. Havey served as the basketball head coach from 1985 to 1991, earning the ACAC coach of the year award for the 1987-1988 season and securing a double win with both the ACAC coach of the year and the CCAA coaching excellence award in the 1989-1990 season. Havey’s coaching legacy is punctuated by achievements, including a Rattlers team record of 39-27 based on ACAC records available from 1987 onwards. During his tenure, he coached two All-Canadian players in the 1987-88 and 1989-90 seasons. “Medicine Hat College and our entire Rattlers family extends a sincere congratulations to Jeni and Mike on this well-deserved honour,” Terry Ballard, manager of athletics and recreations said. “Their contributions to competition and coaching have left a lasting impact on our organization and we proud to call them Rattlers.” 10
