The two teams finished in first place at the Super South Basketball Tournament hosted by Monsignor McCoy and Crescent Heights High School. In the first round for the senior team, they beat Swift Current 117-43 followed by a 120-53 win against WR Myers in the semifinals. The Hawks came out on top in the final, beating Strathmore 98-66. Trey Watson, Arinze Aniagu and Kyle Bertram led the Sr. Hawks with Watson averaging 24 points per game and contributing six assists. Aniagu and Bertram also showcased their scoring prowess, each averaging 16 points per game over the weekend. Six players averaged double figures, showcasing the Sr. team’s depth. The JV Hawks mirrored the success of their varsity counterparts. In their first-round action, they beat Brooks 105-87 before topping Crescent Heights High School 92-87 in the second round. They came out on top in the finals, beating Chinook High School from Lethbridge with a final score of 81-69. Haydon Van Maarion led the Junior Varsity Hawks in scoring, averaging 18 points over the weekend. Joel Miller contributed with an average of 16 points per game, while Sammy Salazar-Bojorquez averaged 13 points this weekend. The Hawks travel to Lethbridge to take on LCI on Thursday. The Senior Hawks are 8-0 on the season, undefeated in league play. The JV team is 7-1 on the season and also have a perfect record in league play. 9
